Natural Gas for Transportation
Don Colwell - Encana

This month we present the first of a two part series on initiatives Encana is working on to increase natural gas demand in North America. The November luncheon will focus on the transportation sector and the January luncheon, the electricity generation sector. On the transportation side, Encana is looking at both the use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) in all forms of road transportation. Topics covered in the presentation include the establishment of two transportation corridors in Canada, the use of LNG in heavy duty vehicles, environmental benefits of natural gas for transportation, the relative cost of gas vs conventional fuels and economics, and the opportunity for deployment of natural gas vehicles within the various market segments within Canada.

Our presenter is in the Market Development group within Encana's Natural Gas Economy Team. Don's focus is working to build natural gas for transportation demand within Alberta concentrating on the cities of Edmonton and Calgary and the main trucking corridors within the province. Don has over 9 years of experience within the oil and gas industry with specific experience in completion engineering, production engineering, reservoir engineering, development engineering, and strategic planning. Don holds a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, a Masters Degree in Construction Engineering and Management, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
