Effective April 5, 2002, the merger transaction between PanCanadian Energy Corporation (PanCanadian) and Alberta Energy Company Ltd. (AEC) took effect and began operating as EnCana Corporation on April 8, 2002.

As a result, several former PanCanadian affiliate have changed their names:

On February 19, 2002, Reliant Resouces, Inc. (RRI) completed its previously announced acquisition of Orion Power Holdings, Inc. (Orion Power). The acquisition was effected by a merger of a wholly-owned subsidiary of RRI with and into Orion Power. Orion Power was the surviving entity and is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of RRI. Orion Power Midwest LP (OPMW) remains a wholly-owned subsidiary of Orion Power. There have been no changes in the corporate structure of Orion Power or any of the Orion Power entities that existed prior to the merger.
