October 2014 Evolution of a Project Life Cycle Audit Program Evan Baker Evan Baker, MSc, CEA and Group Lead of Regulatory Audit and Advisory at Cenovus Energy Inc. will outline the varying aspects of an audit program related to projects. Environment, Health and Safety Audit Programs often focus on one stage of a company's activities - most often an operating facility. In the oil and gas industry, there is a Project Life Cycle from greenfield through concept, geophysical, design, application & approvals, drilling, construction, operations, abandonment, decommissioning, reclamation and back to greenfield. This presentation will focus on the design and some of the challenges and opportunities in moving from an operationally focused EHS audit program to a risk-based program that looks at the different life cycle stages. Evan Baker has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Geography from the University of Calgary granted in 1980 and 1985 respectively. Over his career he has been involved in many aspects of environmental work, including soil surveys, environmental impact assessments, regulatory applications and management system development.
