LRT West Project
Christian Comier, City of Calgary

Already in its second construction season, the West LRT line will extend the existing network by eight kilometres and add six stations, a Transit Oriented Development site, an interchange, two park and ride locations, and two bus terminals. The West LRT is the first new line in 20 years and is the largest infrastructure project in Calgary's history. Christian Cormier, from The City of Calgary's West LRT Office, will tell us more about the alignment, station design, progress of construction, and communications with stakeholders.

Called to the Bar in 1992, Christian comes to the City of Calgary with over nine years of experience in public consultations, communications and public relations in Calgary, Singapore and Montreal. Thanks to his legal background, he has also been involved in land use and regulatory work for more than seven years in Calgary, London, UK, and Montreal. More recently, he was responsible for the regulatory and consultation process pertaining to an oilsands project where citizens, First Nations and environmental groups were involved. Trained as a lawyer, he also obtained a Master's degree with a specialization in land use and planning from the University of Paris. Christian is currently an MBA candidate with the University of Durham in the UK.
