SAGD Presentation
Ian Young, Vice President New Resource Plays, Cenovus Energy

The future of our oil sands industry is dependent on our ability to invest in technology and innovation. Although it seems like SAGD has been in development a long time, there is tremendous opportunity for advancement. Cenovus' Ian Young will explore how investing in innovation will continue to help the industry drive down costs, improve the environmental performance and improve recovery of this important resource.

Mr. Young is currently responsible for Cenovus' undeveloped oil sands assets and New Venture activity. He graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geology from the University of Calgary in 1985. Prior to the Cenovus/EnCana split, Ian held a series of positions at EnCana including Vice President, Rangeland Business Unit and Vice President New Ventures. Ian is a member of the CSPG, APEGGA and AAPG. He is past-President of the Canadian Federation of Earth Sciences, the national umbrella organization for geoscience organizations in Canada.
